What Is Boudoir?
A boudoir (meaning "bedroom") photography session is about allowing your inner temptress come to light. The glances and special winks only your significant other sees are captured on film to be cherished for years to come. Women of all ages, sizes, shapes, and colors photograph their soft, sweet, sexy, and sassy sides for themselves and their significant others as a gift or for their own beautiful independence.
Boudoir is a personal definition and can be whatever you image. If you're idea of sexy is cuddling up to a fluffy pillow in pink and heart style pajamas, then that's boudoir. If you're ready to bring out the lace and leather for highly stylized and sexy shots, that can be boudoir too. Perhaps soft colors and sexy panties is your perfect vision of sexiness, it all means the same thing. Boudoir is all the meanings of sexy without the sex.
What should you bring
to the Photo Shoot?
It really depends on your theme and what you wish to accomplish with the pictures. Try to develop a theme for the session that is personal. Put some thought into the colors of your outfits and location as well as what your overall 'feel' of the photos should be. Blue accented colors relay cool feelings while reds and yellows portray warm feelings. Neutral environments allow for color accents to stand out.
Soft colors reflect a lot of women's inner personalities. This look should use colors such as white, baby pink, light blue, and/or lavender. Wearing boxers or pajamas send a very 'cute' message. Accent the outfit with your favorite bra and panty set if you feel comfortable.
Dark environments with vibrant colors help this mood. Deep reds, violets, navy blue, and black can lend a sultry look. Accompanying attire would be teddies, corsets, latex, and leather. Textured outfits and accessories work well with this setting as well.
The examples above are just a few of many possibilities. Think about who the photos are for and keep in mind how you would like them to be perceived. If the photos are meant for a significant other, keep in mind their likes and dislikes as well as any turn-ons that can help to get the full effect from the photos. If the photos are ultimately for you (the model), then the best thing is to be yourself. Wear outfits in which you're the most comfortable or feel the most sexy.

- Contact Us for a Consultation: We take your intimate photography inquiries seriously and we want to get to know you before doing any photo sessions.
- The Consultation: The consultation is very similar to a meet-and-greet where we ask questions and really understand the process. Have an idea of what kind of photo session you'd like for your boudoir. It helps to browse magazines and websites for photos that truly inspire you and bring them with you to the consultation.
- Schedule Your Boudoir Session: Be sure to pick a time that will allow plenty of preparation. Allowing enough time to get hair, makeup, and wardrobe complete without rushing will make a great difference in your photographs.
- Schedule Your Makeup and Hair Appointments: Many EXPOSE packages includes either or both makeup and hair. In this case, we can schedule your appointments for you. If you choose to have your makeup or hair done elsewhere, please provide the stylists' and artists' information so we may coordinate with them.
- Pick Out Your Wardrobe: The best outfits to use in a boudoir session are the ones that will fit your body style and look natural. Spend a little time and shop for the perfect outfit to wear for your boudoir session. Some great places to start are Victoria's Secret and Frederick's of Hollywood. Make sure to purchase quality goods since the photographs are high resolution and will display imperfections in off-brand or 'inexpensive' clothing/lingerie.
- Showtime!: The session is here and it's time to explore your sexy side. Remember who the photos are meant for and imagine what they would love to see in the photographs. The photographer will offer suggestions and tips throughout the session, but this glamour shoot is all about you. Be yourself and have fun. The experience is meant to be light-hearted, fun, exciting, and sexy.
- The Post Consultation: Once the images are retouched and color-corrected, come back to the studio for a post consultation. It's time to go through the photos and decide what we are going to do with them. The best choice is to display them in a personally created lay-flat album. There are other options such as wall portraits, but these are obviously less intimate options.
- Delivery: We will make arrangements to deliver your beautiful product(s) personally to ensure you received your intimate treasures. You will not be dissatisfied.
